Had to post something for International Photography Day.
Travelling in the North in winter, a photographer quickly discovers that light is always in short supply. You want to see more, you want to photograph more, but the day is far too short — and some places take longer to reach than expected.
By the end of the 19th century, about two hundred people lived here. Now there is just frost, wind and night — and an extraordinary lonely church built at the end of the 17th century.
My Land Cruiser, a reliable source of light in places like this, produced a rather unusual result. It looks almost like a negative, though it isn’t one.
The session ended with an hour of shovelling the truck out of the snow.
Definitely worth it.
